WORCESTER Wolves are closing in on new players for next season with head coach Skouson Harker scouring the globe.
Having lost point guard Chuck Evans to British Basketball League rivals Chester Jets, a replacement is high on the agenda.
Harker is searching in North America before heading off to Lithuania to look at potential players.
He said: “We have really good links in these countries so it makes sense that we go there first.
“I have a great belief that whenever possible it is always best to try and meet and see players first-hand rather than simply relying on agents.”
But Wolves have yet to receive confirmation of which, if any, of the squad who took them to the BBL play-offs last season will be returning.
However, director of basketball Mick Donovan is confident Harker will be able to build a squad who can carry on from where they left off last year.
“Basketball fans throughout the country are aware of Skouson’s reputation for unearthing talent,” Donovan said. “Some of the players that we have discussed so far are certainly exciting prospects and we hope to make some announcements soon.
“We made our mark last season with an exciting team. We firmly believe we can do that again and continue to make progress.”
