WORCESTER Wolves have signed 6ft 5ins American guard Tommy Johnson.
Johnson, a British passport holder, set six school records, including 109 three-pointers made in a season to go with 80 steals while earning NAIA All-America honours at Texas Wesleyan University in 2004.
The 27-year-old, who was born in Britain, began his professional career with Basket Groot Leuven in the Belgian First Division in 2005 before moving to Royal Atomia Brussels and becoming the club’s top-scorer off the bench.
Johnson secured a contract with Keflavik in Iceland’s top division where he led them to the league championship as well as the play-off title.
Wolves head coach Skouson Harker said: “We expect Tommy to be a major factor for us this season.
“His offensive ability, coupled with the fact that he is a good defender, will make him a very effective player in the BBL.”
