WORCESTER Wolves Seconds hosted Team Birmingham in a game that pitted third against bottom in English Basketball League Division Four Midlands.
Coach Guy Evans made three changes to the starting line-up, as second years Ben McGee, Joe Dack, and Charlie Higgs all got the nod to begin the contest, alongside captain Luke Selvester and centre Chris Higgins.
Wolves broke out to a 12-0 lead in the first three minutes and it became clear that the visitors had no response to an overwhelming display of quick passing and accurate shooting.
The second quarter saw Albert Ziwa break out to several uncontested lay-ups, although Team Birmingham attempted a mini-revival.
This 10-minute stretch was the most competitive of the game, with Wolves racking up 27 points to the away side’s 22. Conal O’Leary fired in back-to-back three-pointers in the final minutes before half-time.
The outcome became a foregone conclusion in the early moments of the second-half as Worcester soon increased the lead to 40. Lithuanian Povilas Tamulynas impressed and McGee came alive with several jumpers.
Up 50 points after three quarters, Worcester added to the lead in the final stanza, finishing with a 118-61 win.
