Plymouth await in last four

THE countdown to the biggest game in Worcester Wolves history has begun.

There is now under a week to go before Paul James’ side take on Plymouth Raiders in the British Basketball League Cup semi-finals.

Saturday’s first leg at the University of Worcester is swiftly followed by the return fixture in Devon on Sunday.

With the teams having already faced each other three times this season, a fierce rivalry has been brewing.

In their first meeting, in the BBL Trophy in October, Wolves were humiliated in front of their own supporters 85-62.

A week later, Wolves secured revenge in the same competition, winning 96-85 at Plymouth in a victory.

That was to be the first of a record-breaking eight in a row, which included another thrilling 77-76 win over Raiders in the championship last month, decided by a late basket from Sherrad Prezzie-Blue.

Semi-final tickets are still on sale from the University Sports Centre reception and spectators are advised to secure them as soon as possible.
