WORCESTER Wolves centre Richie Gordon has been named in the British Basketball League team of the week.

The 6ft 9ins American earns his place for his double-double of 34 points and 12 rebounds in the 89-82 BBL Cup semi-final second leg victory at Plymouth Raiders.

However, Gordon’s efforts were not enough to stop the University of Worcester-based side sliding to an aggregate 193-172 defeat, following a 111-83 first leg loss, and missing out on a place in the final against Newcastle Eagles.

It is the second time Gordon has been named in the select side, while Sherrad Prezzie-Blue and Tommy Freeman have gained recognition in recent weeks.

Gordon is joined in the team of the week by Demarius Bolds of Milton Keynes Lions, Glasgow Rocks’ Mychal Green, Ayron Hardy from Leicester Riders and Newcastle’s Darius Defoe.
