WORCESTER Wolves head coach Paul James says there’s no added pressure on his side as they look to continue their push for the BBL Champion-ship title with a home game against Cheshire Jets tonight (7pm).

Wolves moved level on points with Newcastle Eagles at the top of the table last weekend, but flying high doesn’t worry James. “Being at the top of the table does not bring any extra pressure to us,” he said.

“I'm enjoying challenging my players not to be satisfied with what we have done to this point, but to have a mindset of just win the next game.

“To do that we have to keep working hard and prepare well as individuals and as a team. We understand that we have played a bunch of games more than some teams. However, we have won more than we have lost and that puts pressure on those teams playing catch-up to win their games in hand.

“We have points in the bag and I’m happy with where we are right now!”

Tonight will be the sides’ first meeting this season, but James knows what to expect.

“I have only seen the Jets once this season and that was early October when they played Guildford Heat,” he said. “They are a team in transition with a new coach and new players.

“Having said that, Bill Cole and William Brown have been good new additions to the BBL, while Matt Schneck and Colin O’Reilly bring a little bit of stability.”

Jets coach John Lavery expects a tough game at the University of Worcester.

“Wolves are a well-run team and having a good season,” he said. “Richie Gordon and Tommy Freeman look to be key for them.”
