THE success of Worcester Wolves continues with two of their players being named in the British Basketball League’s team of the week.

Richie Gordon and Carlos Fernandez both caught the eye for their efforts during the University of Worcester side’s 94-86 victory over Milton Keynes Lions last weekend.

Gordon appears in the quintet for the sixth time this season, keeping him in the frame to finish at the top of the standings by the end of the campaign, while Fernandez is included for his first appearance.

The Spaniard produced his best performance yet, featuring a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds, to help Wolves beat the Lions and maintain second spot behind Newcastle Eagles. As well as grabbing two steals, he also came close to achieving a rare triple-double by conjuring up seven assists.

American forward Gordon hit an excellent double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds against the Lions, however, it was four blocked shots which provided the main talking point and most decisive contribution.
