WORCESTER Wolves’ prowess at the top of the British Basketball League has been underlined with the inclusion of two players in the prestigious team of the week.

Will Creekmore and Zaire Taylor have been included in the quintet for their efforts in the league leaders’ 102-72 victory over Birmingham Knights last Saturday.

Alex Owumi and Daniel Belgrave have also been recognised on the bench for the select team after impressing in the University Arena contest.

Centre Creekmore was an unstoppable force against the Knights, accumulating a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds to earn him his seventh weekly honour.

Point guard Taylor almost secured the rare feat of a triple-double of statistics but still served up 15 assists as well as adding 10 points and seven rebounds.

The duo are joined in the team of the week starting five by Matt Pressey of Plymouth Raiders, London Lions’ Rod Brown and Mike Tuck from Sheffield Sharks.

Owumi earned his place on the bench after scoring a game-high 24 points against Birmingham, while Belgrave hit 14, including four three-pointers.

Wolves’ first match of 2014 is at Manchester Giants on Sunday (5pm).
