WORCESTER Wolves' new American centre Robert Thurman has been named in the first British Basketball League team of the week for 2014-15.

The 6ft 10ins colossus played a pivotal role in Wolves' 86-81 victory at Newcastle Eagles with 27 points and 13 rebounds, as well as sinking nine of 10 shots from the free-throw line.

Thurman is joined in the select team by Leicester Riders' Neil Watson, David Evans from Plymouth Raiders, Doug McLaughlin-Williams of Bristol Flyers and London Lions' Makal Stibbins.

Wolves team-mate Jamal Williams is one of seven players named on the bench.
