DAVID Wooldridge, the voice of Worcester Wolves, has been named as the announcer for the inaugural Women’s British League Trophy final.
Wooldridge, in his second season in the role commentating on Wolves matches at the University Arena, will take centre stage at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena, known as the Barclaycard Arena on January 11, 2015. The match is part of the build-up to the men’s BBL Cup final on the same day.
Wooldridge, who has previously worked with Youthcomm radio and Free Radio, is hoping to use his position to promote basketball in the UK. He said: “It’s an absolute honour to be selected for such a landmark event in UK basketball. To be involved in the first ever WBBL Trophy final is amazing.
“If I can help reflect and promote the WBLT to all basketball fans, new or old, that’s a massive achievement for me.”
