WORCESTER Wolves have secured a seventh new signing ahead of the 2015-16 campaign with the capture of 6ft 7ins forward Ben Eaves.

The Preston-born 28-year-old averaged 12 points and eight rebounds per game in his second spell for British Basketball League outfit Manchester Giants last season.

Eaves was a product of the respected Manchester Magic development programme and then attended Connecticut and Rhode Island universities in the USA.

He has also enjoyed BBL experience with two stints in Manchester and one year with Plymouth Raiders.

Eaves represented England at under 16s and 18s levels and wore the Great Britain vest with the under 20s and 23s teams.

Wolves coach Paul James said: “Ben is an extremely gifted and talented British player who I had the pleasure of working with through the GB futures programme a few years back.

"With the right focus, approach and direction, he can be one of the top players in this league. Ben’s a great addition to our squad. We have been working on securing this signing throughout the summer and are thrilled to be bringing Ben to Worcester.”

Eaves said: “I am very excited about joining a team with the reputation the Wolves have. Worcester have always been a very tough team to play against. I look forward to working with PJ and his staff and helping the team achieve their goals this season."

He will be a key member of the new international group of forwards at Wolves and the British player will team up with Javi Mugica from Spain, American Perris Blackwell and Pavol Losonsky from Slovakia to form a strong, athletic front-court combination at Worcester.

Wolves have now confirmed eight players for the 2015-16 campaign, with only young guard Disraeli Lufadeju remaining from last season, and start their BBL schedule on Friday, September 18, at home to Glasgow Rocks.

Meanwhile, Losonsky impressed on international duty with Slovakia in China.

The forward averaged 12 points and 13 rebounds per game in an international tournament that featured games against China, Italy and Iran.

His fitness and form will be a big boost for Wolves' fans as the new season approaches.
