WORCESTER Wolves have been hit with a new injury worry after guard Jay Couisnard turned his ankle during his side’s victory over Glasgow Rocks in the BBL Trophy quarter-finals.

The American, who scored 11 points in the 85-66 triumph at the University of Worcester Arena, was forced to sit out training today (Tuesday) and had ice strapped to his ankle to reduce the swelling.

However, Couisnard is confident he will be “100 per cent healthy” to face Newcastle Eagles in the first leg of the BBL Trophy semi-finals at Sport Central on Friday (7.30pm).

“I am struggling with an ankle injury,” he said.

“I landed on someone’s foot after I went up for a jump shot but I will be totally fine later on in the week.

“I have got a swollen ankle right now but I am resting it and waiting for that swelling to go down so I can move.

“I will definitely be able to play on Friday.”

Forward Ben Eaves, who has not featured since injuring his thumb in December, is back out on court after having his cast removed.

But head coach Paul James said he was still two weeks away from returning to action.

“Ben is doing some light training sessions and we will see how it goes but we are not going to force him back,” James added.

Wolves head to Manchester Giants in the British Basketball League on Sunday (6pm).
