WORCESTER Wolves will be “extremely short-handed” at fourth-placed Glasgow Rocks tomorrow (5pm) as Ashton Khan remains sidelined through injury.

However, head coach Paul James has urged his players to stay “united” and “keep fighting” ahead of the British Basketball League encounter.

Khan played no part in Wolves’ 94-75 BBL Cup defeat to Surrey Scorchers last Sunday after “badly bruising” his heel in a university game.

And James confirmed the point guard would not feature at the Emirates Arena.

With Wolves also not expected to make a new signing until “early next week”, they will be left with just six professional players.

“Ashton will not play tomorrow as his heel is way too tender and sore, so we will be extremely short-handed,” James said.

“We have got student players but they are not of the experience or at that level yet that we need.”

Wolves have lost six of their last nine games, including a 94-81 loss to Glasgow at the University of Worcester Arena last month.

But James added: “It seems that everything is going against us at the moment. But we have to just keep fighting.

“It is about staying united and believing in each other as we have still got a very talented group of players.”
