SMALL forward Trevor Setty admits Worcester Wolves’ confidence is “as low as it can get” following a run of poor results.

However, the 27-year-old American firmly believes a much-needed win at second-from-bottom Leeds Force tonight (7.30pm) will see the Wolves “swagger” return.

Having not tasted success in the British Basketball League since late October, the pressure is on eighth-placed Worcester to turn their season around.

Wolves have lost their last four games and 6ft 8in Setty, who joined in the summer, said he felt “weighed down” by their “rough patch”.

“Right now, our confidence is as low as it can get,” he said.

“We just need to get the ball rolling towards Christmas, come back after that, get it rolling again and we will be right back at it and people will forget about the beginning of the season.”

After taking on lowly Leeds, Wolves face back-to-back home games against basement side Bristol Flyers in December.

“I am a swagger player and I have not even found that,” Setty continued.

“Once we can get our swagger right and get everything going, I can’t see anybody beating us. It’s just about ending that streak.

“Once you can fight through that and get that one bit of glory, then it can start snowballing into more wins.

“We have given teams good games but we are not really coming together.

“I think it is getting better and I have seen it in practice for the last couple of weeks.

“It is not translating into games but it will happen.”

Setty, who has previously played in the BBL for Surrey Scorchers and Plymouth Raiders before enjoying a spell in Australia for Mandurah Magic, added: “I definitely didn’t come back into the BBL to lose.

“One of the main reasons I came to Worcester was because I wanted success. I yearned for that.

“It’s hard to get that when you are not winning, so it’s weighed me down a little this season.

“But I just have to keep fighting through this rough patch.”
