WORCESTER Wolves women head into tomorrow's National League Division Two North home game against fellow promotion-chasers Derbyshire Gems (5pm) hungry to avenge a 71-38 November loss.

A win would put Wolves tied second with Gems going into the second half of the season.

In-form Worcester have won two in a row and head coach Ryan Emery says they are not the same team who played Derby before.

He said: "We have come such a long way since then. The players have a chip on their shoulder because the last time we played Derby we didn’t give a fair representation of what we can do."

Wolves went 2-1 in January away from their University of Worcester home with wins at Mansfield and Northampton and defeat to Ipswich.

The consistent Shanice Turner, Grace Brownell and Wura Ijela are all averaging over 15 points per game.

Wolves have improved in key areas like offensive rebounding and forced turnovers, averaging 16 and over 20 per game respectively last month.

Emery added: "We know Derby are an experienced team and we have to respect their strengths but we are in a good place.

"We need all of the wolf pack to come down and support the team. It would mean a lot and create a real atmosphere in the sports hall."
