WORCESTER Wolves host Glasgow Rocks tonight (7pm) as they face their second British Basketball League match in 24 hours.
Having travelled north to tackle league leaders Newcastle Eagles last night, Paul James’ men have little time to recharge their batteries as they are back in action at the University of Worcester against the third-placed Rocks. When the sides met in Glasgow on the opening day of the season in October, Wolves ran out narrow 78-73 winners and head coach James is expecting another tough encounter.
“We played the Rocks earlier in the season when both teams were trying to find their feet,” he said.
“They are a tough team and are well coached by Sterling Davis. They have had some injury problems of late but, such is their depth of players, they have not really missed a beat.
“Mychal Green is their main man and has been on fire for them. He is supported by Gareth Murray, Danny Huffor, Andrew Wedemire and, of course, Davis.”
Rocks player-coach Davis rates the Wolves highly and is refusing to single out a particular dangerman for his team to be wary of.
He said: “They are one of the in-form teams right now. Paul has done a great job of not only putting this team together, but getting them to gel.
“They have too many guys that step up for them to mention just one.”
