WORCESTER Wolves’ season of success continues with two of their players being included in the latest British Basketball League team of the week.
Richie Gordon and Sherrad Prezzie-Blue were selected following Worcester’s double weekend success at Mersey Tigers and at home to Durham Wildcats which puts them level on points with Newcastle Eagles at the top of the table.
Gordon produced the best display of any BBL player this season against the Wildcats when he amassed a gigantic valuation of 44 after racking up a mammoth double-double of 30 points and 20 rebounds.
Eight of those rebounds were offensive, while Gordon also came up with three blocked shots to remind everyone why he was recently crowned Molten BBL player of the month.
This is Gordon’s fourth team of the week appearance in the last five weeks as he catapults himself just behind Ayron Hardy in the race to have the most appearances this season.
Wolves guard Prezzie-Blue registers his fourth appearance of the season after another impressive performance over the weekend when he pulled the strings in helping his team beat Durham.
He was a perfect three of three with three-pointers and, in addition to 13 points, he produced five assists and four rebounds to complete a measured and efficient performance which saw him look after the ball with great composure.
The three other BBL team of the week choices were all Eagles players, Paul Gause, Andrew Bridge and Charles Smith, who all featured in their team’s weekend cup final success over Plymouth.
