I THINK it’s fair to say that 2013 is set to be the most significant in the history of Worcester Wolves.

Not only do we have a great chance of again finishing in the British Basketball League top four, we also make the move into the new Worcester Arena.

I am looking forward to the second half of the season to see what push we can make in the league.

We want to have a really competitive and successful team for when we move into our new home, hopefully by March.

There’s a lot of added incentive for us to focus on what we have to do because I think we have got a really great future ahead of us.

In 12 months time, the club will look a lot different to how it does now.

It’s going to be a shame to move out of the University of Worcester’s sports hall because it’s been a fantastic home for us but we hope to build another headquarters which is also going to be a fortress.

The arena was at the planning stage long before I got here but it was fantastic foresight from Mick Donovan, head of the university’s institute of sports and exercise science, and vice-chancellor David Green to go build something like this.

Basketball in general at the university has been massive and the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) teams have been successful over the years, winning many championships.

The arena is a university facility and we hope to continue recruiting many students who want to learn and play basketball so there’s a lot of great things happening and incentives to be here right now.

We are all really excited about that but we also know the importance of Wolves having a successful second half of the season and moving forward in a really positive light.

I am delighted with the way we’ve been playing.

The last three games could not have been tougher against Newcastle Eagles, Glasgow Rocks and Plymouth Raiders and we’ve managed to come through all those.

We played really well against Newcastle, OK against Glasgow and although we weren’t great against Plymouth, still found a way to win.

We are starting to do things now that I expected from this team so I am really looking to make a fantastic run in the league.

With Sherrad Prezzie-Blue on board and Kai Williams joining, I don’t think we have any excuses now.

The team is as I wanted it so now it’s a matter of getting the work done on the court, having the right frame of mind and being competitive regardless of who we play.

Hopefully, we can keep on improving the way we have been. Finishing in the top four is still certainly within our sights and we haven’t lost a head-to-head with anybody at this moment in time.

We’ve still got a great chance of finishing in one of those places. To do that for the second year running would be fantastic for the club.
