OUR recent break from British Basketball League action has allowed us the chance to manage some of the guys’ fitness a bit better and give them time to recover from a few niggling injuries before we get back into it tomorrow night.

Jamal Williams will still be out for another couple of weeks with a calf problem and Stefan Djukic has been struggling with his ankle, but he should be OK to play and we will manage his injury on a day-to-day basis.

Having the best part of two weeks without a match has been a good opportunity to rest and recover, but we have three big games coming up in December and we want to finish 2013 on a high.

We return to action after this mini-break tomorrow night when Surrey United visit the University of Worcester Arena (7.30pm) and hopefully the rest will have allowed us to recharge our batteries.

The Surrey game is now tomorrow after it was re-arranged when the initial match back in November was called off due to traffic problems preventing them from getting to Worcester.

However, it is good for us that the game has been reorganised for this week as it is useful for us to have a match to get back into our stride before we host London Lions, who are up there with us at the top of the table, next Friday.

We were looking at a three-week break without a game, so it could be a blessing in disguise for us that both Surrey and our venue were free to play the match tomorrow night, as we can use it to build up to the Lions match.

We comprehensively beat Surrey 117-60 on their court when we met them on the opening day of the season, but they have certainly improved a lot since then.

They have added a couple of foreign players to their squad and that has made them more competitive.

Last week they matched Sheffield for three of the quarters, before the Sharks pulled away in the final one to win the game.

We want to pick up where we left off when we won 100-86 at Durham Wildcats at the beginning of December and we will be pretty much at full strength, apart from Jamal.

We have coped without him for a couple of weeks now, so there is no point trying to rush him back at this point.

At the start of the season when we saw the teams we would be facing in the early stages, I said that if we could get through to the new year only being three or four games down, then that would be good.

We have pretty much done that and I thought that would leave us there or thereabouts in the league.

We have a run of winnable games coming up in the next few weeks and we have the chance to put ourselves in a strong position.
