REACHING the final of the British Basketball League Trophy would be just reward for those who have supported Worcester Wolves over the years.

A lot of people have been involved in the club for a long time who haven't had a day out at a final and it would be great to give them that by beating Sheffield Sharks in tonight's semi-final second leg (7.30pm).

The owner, Roger Clarke, has backed the club since day one along with Mick Donovan but there are also supporters who have been around from day one as well.

When I first came to Worcester I really just wanted to make sure we were a competitive team and making the play-offs every year as well as giving ourselves the chance to reach finals.

We have done that in the past two years but this year we have given ourselves more of a chance of making a final because we are in front from the first leg.

For the facility we have at the University Arena, I think it is fitting that Wolves are having their most successful season so far.

I don't think we could have asked for anything more really to be top of the pile in the league and with a great chance of getting to a final in our first season in the arena.

I think we've done the venue justice as a team so far but we haven't won anything yet and we still want to get that milestone.

Now it's about being really focused and playing our game against Sheffield but also not chasing anything that isn't there.

We need to play as a unit for 40 minutes for us to be able to achieve one of the goals that we've set out this season. We're very close and now we've got to get over the line.

We've certainly got to start well and put some pressure on them and we showed we could do that in last Friday's first leg.

Having lost to Newcastle Eagles in the previous match, I was pleased with our response in the first-half at Sheffield, I thought we were very clinical at both ends of the court.

Offensively, it was probably the most patient we have been all season by sharing the ball and being very disciplined.

We lost our way in the second-half and got away from what had given us the lead, which was disappointing and they came back at us which you would expect because they are the defending champions.

It's not easy getting to a final but I think we're in a great position and we've got to grasp that with both hands.
