WORCESTER Wolves completed their warm-up matches ahead of the new season with a 71-65 victory at British Basketball League newcomers Bristol Flyers.

The University Arena side, who followed up their 85-73 home success over Reading Rockets earlier this month, are putting the finishing touches to their plans for the 2014-15 campaign, which starts on Friday at Newcastle Eagles.

Director of basketball Paul James was once again able to run the rule over his summer recruits with guard Sean Park leading the way with 19 points.

French forward Remi Dibo and centre Robert Thurman continued their scoring form with 15 and 13 points respectively.

Bristol, keen to prove their worth in the BBL, opened the game brightly but stout defence in the latter part of the contest saw Wolves home.

A 23-8 run in the final quarter decided the match in the visitors' favour and ensured they can go into the final week of pre-season with confidence.

Friday's trip to defending league champions Newcastle is followed by the first home match of the new season seven days later when Cheshire Phoenix visit the University Arena.

Wolves are aiming to emulate last season's double-winning success which saw them claim both the trophy and play-offs.
