WORCESTER Warriors must be prepared to front up in Saturday’s British and Irish Cup clash against Munster ‘A’ at Sixways.

That’s the view from head coach Carl Hogg, who believes fans will be treated to a lively encounter in Warriors’ second fixture in Pool Three.

Props Jack Cosgrove and Mike Daniels were shown yellow cards in Warriors’ 26-19 victory at Nottingham last Sunday.

Warriors could opt for experienced props Tongan Ofa Fainga’anuku and Joe Rees.

Hooker Ben Sowrey also impressed at Meadow Lane after replacing Niall Annett.

“It was a good learning curve for Jack Cosgrove and he will learn a lot from last weekend and that’s exactly what the British and Irish Cup is about,” Hogg said.

“It gives exposure to young players like Jack and, hopefully, they will learn and develop from it.

“I don’t think it was a huge negative. I think it was part of a front row’s journey. They need tough days at the office to learn from it.”

Munster also made a winning start to the pool, sealing a 27-21 win against Moseley.

Hogg said: “A strong set-piece around the scrum and the defensive line are things that Munster will bring on the weekend.

“Munster will look to get on the front foot, primarily around the forwards. We will need to front up to their physicality, especially in the first 20 minutes.”

Hogg added: “We will make one or two changes to give people opportunities but the majority of the group who played at Nottingham will play again.”
