BRISTOL scrum-half Luke Baldwin is being linked with a move to Worcester Warriors.

The 24-year-old, as with winger Andy Short, has been told he can no longer contribute to Bristol’s quest for promotion to the Premiership.

Warriors are not commenting on whether Baldwin will be coming to Sixways.

Worcester are already well stocked in the scrum-half position with Jonny Arr and Charlie Mulchrone vying for the first-team starting spot and Jean Baptiste-Bruzulier not too far behind.

Baldwin has written an open letter to Bristol’s supporters explaining his decision to leave Andy Robinson’s side.

“As I’m sure many of you can appreciate, there is only a small window of time in professional sport, and, as a result, tough decisions have to be made,” Baldwin said.

“I feel there is a good opportunity for me to go and play regular rugby, something that was not always possible at Bristol. This was purely a rugby decision and bears no reflection on my fellow team-mates, management or the club.”

He added: “Bristol is a great club and on the right track to be successful, I wish them all the best going forward.”
