WORCESTER Warriors wing Tom Biggs says he can’t wait to return to his old stomping ground in Bath next season.

Biggs scored 14 tries in 24 appearances last season to help Warriors secure a return to the Aviva Premiership at their first attempt.

The 30-year-old was a regular for Bath during his time in the West Country and was the club’s top try-scorer during the 2011/12 campaign.

“I am hugely excited about going back to Bath,” said Biggs.

“I have great memories of the place and a lot of great friends there.

“I love that club and I am looking forward to getting down to the Rec next season.”

Biggs has scored 32 tries in 127 Premiership appearances during spells with Bath Leeds (now Yorkshire Carnegie), Newcastle and Bath.

Biggs is now looking forward to a break from rugby after Warriors’ remarkable Greene King IPA Championship play-off final success against Bristol.

After edging the first leg 29- 28 at Ashton Gate, Warriors trailed 30-16 in the second match at Sixways with 10 minutes remaining.

Warriors set up a dramatic finale with a penalty try, which was converted, before Chris Pennell crossed the whitewash with 26 seconds left.

Ryan Lamb’s conversion levelled the scores at 30-30 to give Warriors a one-point aggregate victory over the two legs.

“It was just unbelievable at the end,” Biggs said.

“I feel for the Bristol guys – they put a lot of work in and it could quite easily have been us on the other end of it. I don’t think there was a rivalry between us and them.

We were the two best teams in the competition and I have a lot of friends at that club.

“I was relieved more than anything that we have got the club back into the Premiership.”

Biggs said Warriors’ promotion had been a collective effort from all at Sixways.
