WORCESTER Warriors fly-half Ryan Lamb insists collisions involving monster frames in the Aviva Premiership is a sight to behold.

The experienced play-er believes an afternoon of top-flight action at Sixways is perfect for all the family.

Warriors will open their league campaign at home to Northampton Saints on October 16 and face the Barbarians today at Sixways (3pm) in their first pre-season friendly.

“I think people should watch an Aviva Premiership match because it’s so competitive,” he said.

“From the first kick-off to the last ruck, it’s fantastic to see the intensity and to witness what these big lads and massive athletes do as they throw themselves about — it’s a sight to see.

“There are always families and supporters mixing and it’s always a great atmosphere. Coming to rugby on a Saturday is a great thing to do. For us players, any time you run out onto the pitch against great players is always such a special privilege.”

Lamb was Worcester’s hero as they clinched promotion from the Championship with the last kick of the match in their play-off final against Bristol at the end of May.

Lamb’s last-gasp conversion gave Warriors a 30-30 draw in the second leg at Sixways as they clinched a remarkable 59-58 aggregate triumph.

The Warriors fly-half is involved in a new campaign from Premiership Rugby and Aviva to welcome new supporters to English rugby’s top table.

Lamb is one of 12 club ambassadors — including Chris Robshaw, Danny Cipriani, James Haskell, Schalk Brits and Courtney Lawes — who are backing the ‘Aviva Premiership Rugby First Timers’ campaign.

Aviva and the Premiership Rugby clubs have teamed up to give away almost 2,000 free tickets across every game in the first seven rounds.
