FORMER Worcester Warriors Academy fly-half Luke White has joined Aviva Premiership rivals Harlequins.

The ex-Bromsgrove School pupil has signed for Harlequins following a successful trial period and will become a first year member of Harlequins' Academy with immediate effect.

The 18-year-old was part of Worcester Warriors' Academy from 14 years of age until the middle of last season.

In March 2015, White played for Bromsgrove in the NatWest Schools Cup and was named man of the match in both the semi-final and the final, which Bromsgrove went on to win 30-18 against Dulwich College.

Chester-born White played in the Greene King IPA International Rugby Sevens tournament hosted in Bury St Edmunds before starting a trial period with Harlequins at the beginning of August.

During this period White played for Harlequins in the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s Series helping the club to reach the finals for the third consecutive year.

The fly-half will be dual registered with Dorking Rugby Club for this season.

White said: "I'm delighted to have signed for Harlequins; a club with such high calibre players, coaching staff and with such a great team culture.

"Playing alongside seasoned internationals and fly-halves with lots of experience like Nick Evans can only help in my development and motivate and drive me to reach the highest of standards.”

Harlequins academy manager Tony Diprose said: "We are really pleased to welcome Luke into the Harlequins academy set up this season. Luke has impressed us both with his attitude and his skill set during his trial period in pre-season. Both of these attributes were also on show in his performances in the Singha 7s series.

"He is a very ambitious and motivated young player and we are looking forward to overseeing his development at Harlequins and Dorking via his dual registration.”
