WORCESTER Warriors rookie back Perry Humphreys has signed a first-team contract.

The 21-year-old full-back, who can also play on the wing, has impressed since moving to Sixways from Leicester Tigers in the summer of 2014.

Humphreys has not featured in Warriors' Aviva Premiership team so far but impressed in the European Challenge Cup.

He also scored and set up a brace of tries in Worcester Cavaliers’ November win over Sale Jets.

Humphreys was handed his Warriors first-team debut away at Rotherham Titans in October 2014.

He made 11 appearances last term, bagging two tries – including a solo score in the British and Irish Cup semi-final against Leinster A, with Warriors going on to win the competition.

Humphreys has been a mainstay of the Cavaliers, notching three tries in seven games as they reached the Aviva A-League final for the first time.

Director of rugby Dean Ryan said: “Perry is a tremendous athlete who continues to show real enthusiasm and electric pace on the field.

“He provides exciting competition in the back three and we’re looking forward to working closely with him to further aid his rapid development.”

Humphreys said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first two seasons at Warriors, working with some great coaches and talented players.

“Everyone has really helped me settle in and I feel like I’ve made big improvements to my game.

“I’m really excited about what’s ahead as the club is clearly moving in the right direction and it’s definitely something I want to continue being part of.”
