JAN McGinity is the new head of rugby recruitment at Worcester Warriors.

The former financial advisor will be responsible for bringing talented English-qualified players into the Sixways set-up.

McGinity had been a consultant at the Warriors since 2013 and has worked with big-name players such as New Zealand duo Dan Carter and Richie McCaw.

Working to the Warriors leadership team of head coach Carl Hogg and performance director Nick Johnston, McGinity, will focus on identifying and securing talent to bring to Sixways.

McGinity said: "Having been a consultant at Warriors and seen the developments with the club on and off the pitch, this was too good an opportunity to turn down.

"Much of my role is to focus on us becoming a competitive and largely English-qualified squad, supplemented with international players bringing their experience and looking for the opportunity to play and be coached in the world-class facilities at Sixways.”

Initially a personal financial advisor, McGinity then became head of rugby in the UK & Ireland for Essentially Group before setting up The Rugby Consultancy in 2013 to work with professional rugby organisations on long-term strategies.

Chief executive Jim O'Toole added: "With the need for Premiership clubs to identify and recruit top talent becoming an ever more serious competition within the game, it has become more apparent a club's long-term recruitment strategy is crucial to building its continued success."

He added: "Jan's appointment confirms our long-term strategic approach and it being a central focus in moving the club forward.”
