WORCESTER Warriors back-row Alafoti Fa’osiliva will appear before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel in Coventry tomorrow night.

The former Bath forward was red-carded in the 52nd minute of Friday’s Aviva Premiership derby against Gloucester after a collision with Gloucester lock Mariano Galarza.

He has been charged with striking with the arm and/or elbow, contrary to law 10.4(a).

A ban would see Fa’osiliva miss, at least, Saturday’s clash with ex-club Bath at the Recreation Ground (3pm).

The giant screens inside Sixways were not working due to technical problems and referee Luke Pearce could not view the collision again which sent Galarza tumbling to the ground.

Pearce was directed to make the game-changing decision by television match official Stuart Terheege, who claimed Fa’osiliva had charged at Galarza using his arm or elbow.

Warriors head coach Carl Hogg insisted Fa’osiliva’s dismissal had “changed the outcome” of the match which saw Gloucester hit back from a 20-9 deficit in a 23-23 draw.

The hearing takes place at 6.30pm and the panel will be Dan White (chairman), John Brennan and Tony Wheat.
