WORCESTER Warriors are poised to announce player signings “in the near future”, head coach Carl Hogg has confirmed.

Hogg reassured supporters that Warriors will be strengthening their squad for next season after Val Rapava Ruskin’s move to Aviva Premiership rivals Gloucester was finally confirmed after weeks of speculation.

“We have got people in the pipeline who we are due to announce in the near future but that will be done through the normal channels,” said Hogg.

“There are a number of players who we’ve already signed and already spoken to and there’s also ongoing negotiations but that’s part and parcel of the season.”

Hogg accepted that Warriors’ lowly place in the Premiership table had made some player negotiations tough.

He said: “It (the league position) does make it more problematic but if you look at the club as a whole and the structures and systems in place for the long-term sustainable future, they are very strong,” said Hogg.

“There has been a huge level of investment by the board behind the scenes and the academy structure is one of the best in the country and our facilities are phenomenal.

“The academy is starting to produce the likes of Jamie Shillcock, Jack Singleton, Perry Humphreys, Josh Adams and Dean Hammond. They are players who have produced here and we will continue to produce players like those.”
