GIANT prop James Johnston is leaving Worcester Warriors for French Top 14 outfit Brive, according to a national report.

The 31-year-old Auckland-born forward has struggled for fitness since joining Warriors from Wasps in January 2016.

Johnston has been a disappointing signing for Warriors and slipped down the pecking order at Sixways.

The Samoan international has made just two starts for Warriors in the Aviva Premiership this term and eight appearances from the bench.

He has made 24 appearances for Warriors in total.

Johnston has been dogged by injury this campaign and was not expected to be offered a new deal by director of rugby Gary Gold.
