PROP Gareth Milasinovich has become the 10th first-team player at Worcester Warriors to sign on ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

The front rower, who will become England qualified in June, has agreed a one-year contract extension as he continues his development at Sixways.

Milasinovich has made 34 appearances in the blue and gold after joining the academy in 2015, and it could have been a lot more had it not have been for injury which kept him out for a whole year.

But he has since fought back and become an ever-present for Warriors this season in all competitions, making 22 appearances.

The 25-year-old previously played Varsity Cup rugby for the University of Johannesburg in South Africa.

Milasinovich said: “Before I came to Worcester, I could see this was a place where any young aspiring player could come and get opportunities and achieve what they wanted in rugby.

“I started off in the academy and with the facilities and resources that have been available to me, it’s allowed me to gain chances in the first-team.

“Guys around me in the academy when I arrived, such as Jamie Shillcock, Josh Adams and Jack Singleton, have all made that step up to the first-team too, and it just shows how players can make it to the top of the game with Warriors, especially with the likes of Josh and Jack getting international recognition.”

Warriors director of rugby Alan Solomons added: “Gareth is a really strong scrummager and he has come on leaps and bounds since moving from South Africa to England.

“I’m really pleased he’s decided to stay with the club and I’m sure he’ll continue to develop at Sixways.”
