RICHARD Hill will pick his strongest available side for Saturday’s LV= Cup dead rubber with Ospreys at Sixways (3pm) as Warriors look to extend their 2012 unbeaten home record.
An inflatable dome has been put up over the playing surface in a bid to beat the freezing temperatures and Hill is desperate for the game to go ahead so Worcester can build momentum before their return to Aviva Premiership action at Sale Sharks a week on Friday.
The Warriors head coach said: “Unfortunately, neither us or the Ospreys can get through to the knock-out stages of the LV= Cup, which is a shame, so the game hasn’t got the importance of being able to progress.
“But, for us, after two defeats to Saracens and Stade Francais – although we did see a lot of good play from our team in both of those games – we need to get back to winning ways.
“In terms of selection, myself and Phil Davies will be picking our strongest available team, subject to availability with the likes of Matt Mullan, Miles Benjamin, Alex Grove and Matt Kvesic away on international duty.
“We hope to continue our winning ways at Sixways in 2012 - having beaten the likes of Parma, Gloucester and Bath ‘A’, we are unbeaten here in all competitions this year.
“It is obviously only one month into the year, but it is a good record to have and we want to continue it this weekend.”
Hill added: “We’re not quite sure what side Ospreys will bring up, but if they go with the same team they picked last weekend, it will be very young, but those guys will want to prove a point.”
