WARRIORS winger Marcel Garvey has confirmed he will be playing his rugby in the French Top 14 next season after agreeing to join Castres.

The 28-year-old former Gloucester speedster turn-ed down an offer of a new contract at Sixways to sign for the Pyrenees-based club.

Garvey has spent six seasons at Worcester.

Meanwhile, a powerful first-half performance from Worcester Cavaliers secur-ed a 27-10 victory over The Army in a friendly charity fixture at Sixways.

Fit-again flanker Neil Best burst over the line early on, before tries from lock Nile Dacres and scrum-half Jonny Arr ensured Worcester took control by the break.

Wing Josh Drauniniu added a fourth score early in the second period, before Richard Muagututia was carried off. The back-rower spent the night in hospital as a precaution, but was released yesterday.

The Army then hit back with two late tries from Dave Duffus and Semesa Rokoduguni.

Warriors’ Joe Carlisle also injured a finger and is awaiting the results of a scan.

Elsewhere, Warriors flan-ker Matt Kvesic starts at blindside for England Under 20s’ Six Nations fixtures against France at the Stade de la Rabine in Vannes tomorrow (7.45pm).
