WORCESTER Warriors’ director of rugby Dean Ryan says he will be making ‘four of five’ changes for Saturday’s derby against Moseley at Sixways.

“If you make wholesale changes it just becomes a different team,” said Ryan this afternoon.

“We think four or five (changes) is about right – there are couple of people pushing and a couple of people who will only get better by playing – so we want to get them out there.

“It will be a good chance for some of those youngsters to be in a senior game and kick on again from where we have been.”

Warriors’ suffered a last-gasp 23-19 defeat at rivals Bristol last Sunday in their opening match in this term's Greene King IPA Championship.

“I have watched it back a couple of times and we should win the game reasonably easily,” said Ryan.

“We will be making a few changes this week to invigorate the place again and we are really going to have a crack at it – it’s not the Premiership – it’s a different tournament.

“Our start point was frustrating but it’s invigorating to think what we think we can do.

“We didn’t really create enough from our dominance.

“We missed a try in the first 50 seconds – we didn’t nail it and those things can change games.”

This weekend’s opponents, Moseley, hit back with two tries from Hereford-based debutant Drew Cheshire, a former Luctonians winger, to snatch a 22-22 draw at home to Jersey.

Ryan insisted: “I have been in this Championship twice before and I do not disrespect it. Someone will cause an upset somewhere because teams can fight.”
