VERSATILE back Ryan Mills has been hailed as a class act by Worcester Warriors director of rugby Dean Ryan.

Mills has starred for Warriors at fly-half in their last two thumping wins, including Saturday’s 49-10 victory over Rotherham Titans in the televised clash at Sixways.

Mills, who can also play at centre, scored one of Worcester’s seven tries and set up others as Warriors romped to a club-record 21st successive win at first-team level.

Ryan said: “I don’t want to say Ryan’s been outstanding every week — he’s a class act so he should be. “We spent a lot of time getting him fit and making sure he was in the right place.

“He’s a top man in driving this club forward and being successful. He’s the real deal in so many ways and we’re fortunate to have him here and for him to want to make this place successful.”

Warriors top the Championship and have booked their spot in the play-offs.

But Ryan insists he’s more focused on the side’s development than the record number of wins.

“I have no interest in it at all (setting a new club record),” he said.

“I am interested in us getting better. We should win these games and we are looking to get better all the time.

“I am really excited about how much further we can go and I am not prepared to sit and enjoy the win.

“This is about moving towards the play-offs and getting stronger.

“We have had three or four weeks of momentum and the fact we are still frustrated shows we have more to do.

“We spent a lot of pre-Christmas building a drive, which people couldn’t cope with, and now we’re building a back-line that people are struggling to cope with.

“We will get back to doing a bit of both so people don’t know what is coming.

“We are trying to build more armoury to make ourselves stronger towards the end of the season.”

Ryan revealed fly-half Tiff Eden will head to Nottingham for first-team action.

Warriors travel to Bedford Blues on Saturday (3pm).
