FLY-HALF Tiff Eden kicked 19 points in Worcester Cavaliers’ 49-15 victory against the Army in Portugal as part of the Algarve Rugby Festival.

Perry Humphreys and Josh Drauniniu both bagged a brace of tries for Worcester, who crossed the whitewash six times.

It was Cavaliers’ 12th win from 13 matches and followed on from their 32-24 victory against Russian side Krasny Yar 32-24 at Hartpury College earlier this month.

Worcester’s players had been working on their conditioning while the senior heads mentored the youngsters ahead of the match at Browns Sports and Leisure Club.

Cavaliers made a bright start to the fixture and two early penalties from Eden swept them into a 6-0 lead inside 12 minutes.

Cavaliers extended their advantage in the 16th minute when Humphreys dived over in corner with the impressive Eden adding the extras from touchline.

Worcester soon notched their second try after flanker Mat Gilbert dotted down from a driving maul and Eden slotted another well-struck conversion.

However, the Army made an immediate response, bagging a converted try and then adding a penalty to cut Worcester’s lead to 20-10 at the interval.

Worcester, however, made a brisk start to the second period and another penalty from Eden got the scoreboard ticking over.

Drauniniu found a gap to score his first try of the match, which Eden converted, and the flying winger soon finished off another nice move for his second touchdown.

Eden’s conversion put the Cavaliers 37-10 ahead and it got better for Worcester with seven minutes remaining.

James Stephenson made an intercept and ran almost the length of field to touch down and Eden kicked the conversion.

Humphreys jigged his way to line for his second try of the afternoon and it was a surprise when Eden missed his first conversion.

The Army grabbed a consolation try in the corner but it couldn’t take the gloss off a fine Cavaliers display with Andrew Kitchener, Eden and Heath Stevens all outstanding.
