WORCESTER Warriors have welcomed six new players into their academy for the 2015/16 campaign.

Josh Adams, Charlie Hewitt, Gareth Milasinovich, Jamie Shillcock, Justin Clegg and James Page will all be part of the Sixways academy set-up.

Twenty-year-old winger Adams, who has scored four tries in 12 appearances for the Wales Under 20s side, will be a key figure for his country at this summer’s World Rugby Under 20 Championship. He will move to Warriors from Llanelli Scarlets.

Twenty-year-old lock Hewitt came through the ranks at Bath Rugby before moving to Exeter Chiefs and has also represented England at Under 18 level.

Milasinovich will move to Warriors from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa, where he has been playing Varsity Cup rugby.

The 22-year-old, who is English-qualified, is a powerful scrummager who can play either side of the front row.

Seventeen-year-old Shillcock has made headlines in recent weeks after being handed a place on the bench for three of Warriors’ crucial Championship play-off matches, making his debut against London Scottish in the semi-final second leg.

The scrum-half, who has also appeared for Worcester’s Cavaliers side, has represented England Under 18 Counties and the England Under 19 Academies.

Eighteen-year-old Clegg has come through Warriors’ age-group sides and has represented England at Under 17 and 18 levels.

The giant lock from Bromsgrove School will combine his rugby with a place at Durham University, where he will study history.

Seventeen-year-old Page has also come through the Warriors age-group sides and has already appeared for the Cavaliers.

The loosehead prop, who is known as an athletic ball-carrier, will move to Sixways after finishing his studies at Malvern College.

Current Academy player Andrew Kitchener has also extended his stay at Sixways by signing a new contract. The lock will concurrently study at Birmingham University.

Jack Singleton, Huw Taylor and Sam Ripper Smith make up the rest of the academy squad for next season, while Tiff Eden, Christian Scotland-Williamson and Mike Daniels will move into the first-team after penning contracts earlier this year.

Warriors academy manager Mark Hewitt said: “We are excited about the depth of talent we will have in our Academy next season as we are continuing to focus our attentions on developing young players for the first-team.

“We’ve seen massive progress from the players in our academy set-up this season and that has been highlighted by the fact that Tiff, Christian and Mike have all been rewarded with first-team contracts.”
