DIRECTOR of rugby Dean Ryan is urging his Worcester Warriors players to seize the moment at Twickenham later this month.

Warriors will be playing their first Aviva Premiership match at the home of English rugby against Saracens as part of a London double-header on Saturday, November 28 (3.15pm).

Saracens won the title at the same ground in May and, after the Warriors’ match, an ever-improving Wasps will take on Tom Coventry’s new-look London Irish side (5.30pm).

Worcester may be the underdogs for the occasion but they have opened the new campaign with two wins from four matches.

“For us, you could look at Saracens in the London double-header in front of a full house and some might be nervous,” said former Gloucester boss Ryan.

“But, when you get nervous and worried about it, remember where we were last season and what we were driving for.

“To be playing at a full house against those teams, what more could we ask for? Let’s go and enjoy it.”

The likes of Ryan Lamb and Tom Biggs have been in the top-flight for much of their career and have returned to state their case again with Warriors.

Ryan says all the players have bought into the challenge.

“A lot of our players weren’t first choice at the bigger clubs and they were frustrated that they were told that they couldn’t play in the Premiership,” added ex-England international Ryan.

“The core factor for us is that a lot of these guys are so desperate to be successful and there are no passengers.

“Nobody is here for the end of their contract, for a year in London or England — nobody.

“Everybody here buys into what we are trying to do so I think that gives us enough traction to work hard and be competitive and I’m sure that Twickenham will be no different in that regard.”
