WORCESTER Warriors hooker Jack Singleton crashed over for a try in England’s thumping 44-0 win against Scotland in the World Rugby U20s Championships.
England are now within touching distance of the semi finals after a second successive bonus-point victory.
Bath-bound skipper Jack Walker got the ball rolling with the opening try at the Manchester City Academy Stadium.
England kicked on with five tries in all against a Scottish team who had beaten them earlier this year in the Six Nations.
After Walker’s effort, Leicester Tigers flanker Will Evans, a replacement in the Aviva Premiership Rugby semi-final clash with Saracens, scored on his U20s debut.
That was followed by a score from London Irish’s Johnny Williams after a great break from winger Sam Aspland-Robinson.
Harry Mallinder converted all three tries, while also chipping in with two penalties as England led 27-0.
Replacement hooker Singleton scored the bonus-point try, converted by Max Malins, and the Saracens man finished things off with a try, which he converted to seal the win. England face Australia in their final Pool B game on Wednesday, and a victory would guarantee a semi-final spot.
