FORMER Worcester Warriors centre Alex Grove will be reflecting on his 10-year career in an evening at The Pheasant this summer.

A product of Warriors’ academy, Grove retired from professional rugby in May after racking up 153 first-team appearances for Worcester.

Grove will be speaking to fans at an event organised by The Warriors Rugby Supporters Club on Friday, August 12 (7.30pm).

“At the end of last season Bob Low said he wanted to do an evening at The Pheasant as a bit of a thank you to me, which was very kind of him,” explained Grove.

“The evening will be a very casual event chatting about the Warriors, my time there and current topics in the game and surrounding the club.

“It will also be a chance to have a burger and a beer with a few familiar faces.”

Grove scored 29 tries for Warriors and sits joint-seventh in a list of all-time try-scorers for the club, which Miles Benjamin tops with 60.

In last season’s Warriors squad, Grove was one of four players to pass 100 appearances for Worcester along with Jonny Arr (177), Chris Pennell (165) and Sam Betty (114).

Grove’s scored a maiden Premiership try on his first top-tier start as Warriors edged a thrilling, last-gasp 13-12 win over Wasps at Sixways in February 2009.

He drew the curtain on his career after making his last appearance for Warriors in their final Premiership game of the season against Saracens at Sixways.

The 28-year-old former Scotland international has now put his rugby boots to one side to make plans away from the sport.

“In terms of the future, I'm getting into some property development,” said Grove.

“It is an interest of mine and something I wanted to pursue post-rugby so I have switched my focus to that.”

The evening with Grove is for people aged 18 years and above.

Tickets, costing £10 each, include a burger and a bottle of beer.
