FLY-half Ryan Lamb says Worcester Warriors must adopt a more positive attitude and “get away from looking at the bottom four.”

The experienced play-maker believes Warriors should be putting pressure on themselves to win games in the Aviva Premiership.

Warriors head to second-placed Bath on Saturday (3pm) looking for their first victory of the new campaign.

Carl Hogg’s side picked up two points from a thrilling 23-23 derby draw last Friday after a comprehensive 35-3 defeat against Saracens in their opening match.

Bath have won both their matches and racked up eight tries in a 58-5 demolition of Newcastle Falcons last Saturday.

Warriors finished 10th last season in their first campaign back in the top tier and Lamb thinks the Sixways outfit should be setting their sights higher.

“We don’t want to be looking at the bottom of the league,” said Lamb, who has started both of Worcester’s Premiership matches this term.

“We have to get away from looking at the bottom four and take every week as it comes especially at home.

“With the squad we’ve got we should be winning games and that’s the type of pressure we should be putting on ourselves."

He added: “We should go out to win games rather than going out not to lose them and perhaps we were guilty of doing that a bit last season.”

Lamb believes the Premiership “is getting more competitive each year.

European Champions Sarries showed their class in an emphatic 34-13 win at Exeter Chiefs yesterday.

And Bristol have also added depth to the Premiership this term.

The Ashton Gate club opened with a narrow 21-19 defeat against Harlequins and followed it up with a 32-10 home defeat to Northampton Saints.

“I think Bristol have performed well but it’s very easy to come out firing early on,” said Lamb.

“The problem with the Premiership is the grind of it and you’re playing against top opposition and you can’t rotate your squad if you’re haven’t got a big squad.

“I think the Premiership is getting more competitive every year. You look at the signings Wasps have made and every week you know it’s going to be tough.”
