NO wins from 11 trips to Bath’s Recreation Ground makes grim reading for Worcester Warriors supporters.

Warriors picked up a losing bonus point on their last visit to the historic ground last December when they were beaten 21-14.

However, head coach Carl Hogg knows history and injuries are stacked against his depleted Warriors side for Saturday’s Aviva Premiership clash (3pm).

New Bath chief Todd Blackadder has “galvanised” his troops since taking the helm.

A confident-looking Bath ripped Newcastle Falcons to shreds last Saturday, running in eight tries in a 58-5 mauling.

It was Bath’s biggest Premiership win since they defeated Rotherham 68-12 15 years ago.

Bath had opened the season with a hard-fought 18-14 victory at Northampton Saints.

“Bath are looking in reasonably good nick,” said Hogg, whose side will be without suspended flanker Alafoti Fa'osiliva.

The 30-year-old former Bath player has been handed a one-week ban after being red-carded by referee Luke Pearce in Worcester’s 23-23 draw against Gloucester.

Fa'osiliva pleaded guilty when he appeared before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel charged with striking with the arm and/or elbow, contrary to law 10.4(a).

Hogg said: “We have got one or two injuries but it gives an opportunity to young players and Bath is ground that’s great to play at.

“It’s an old-fashioned rugby ground and there will be a huge atmosphere and a challenge we are looking forward to.”

The West Country side could welcome back a host of players who have recovered from injury.

Nathan Catt (back) and Henry Thomas (thumb sprain) are both in training, while Anthony Watson has recovered from a knee injury and Dan Bowden is fit after an ankle problem.

Hogg said: “Bath have always had quality players. They had one or two injuries last year but are a quality side.

“Todd (Blackadder) has gone in there and seems to have galvanised the group pretty quickly.

“But it’s not about Bath – it’s about what we do.

"We have to make sure we get our levels of endeavour and energy right and test ourselves against a good side."

Bath’s only defeat in their last six home fixtures was against Saracens in April.

Bath have won the last seven contests between the clubs since Warriors’ 16-7 triumph at Sixways in November 2011.

However, Warriors came close to toppling Bath in February when a controversial decision denied Worcester a last-gasp penalty in a 16-14 defeat.

Warriors must keep a close eye on England fly-half George Ford, who pulled the strings against Falcons.

Ford slotted six conversions, a penalty and a drop goal, while Worcester-born forward Elliott Stooke was among Bath's try scorers.

Hogg said: “Bath took their chances really well and looked sharp.

"They will present a different challenge to us but it is one we are looking forward to.

“We will head there with a collective spirit and see if we can give Bath a challenge.”
