NEW signing Ethan Waller will wear the Worcester Warriors shirt “with pride”, according to head coach Carl Hogg.

The 24-year-old Northampton Saints prop will arrive at Sixways in the summer and “has got a huge future” at Warriors.

Waller is a ready-made replacement for Val Rapava Ruskin who has penned a deal at Gloucester.

He has played 85 times for Northampton, racking up 46 Premiership and 20 European Champions Cup appearances in his time at Franklin’s Gardens.

“I am absolutely delighted to bring Ethan to the club,” said Hogg. “He’s a young player with a huge future and is somebody who wants to wear the Warriors shirt with pride.

“He’s been in Northampton’s system for a number of years and was looking for an opportunity to front up in the Premiership every week and he’s delighted we’ve signed him.”

Waller rose to prominence in the Northampton academy before making his debut for the club against Harlequins in November 2012.

His first-team breakthrough came in the double league and cup-winning campaign of 2013-14 — a season which saw him make 15 Premiership appearances and win the club’s young player of the season award.

He had previously been a regular for Northampton Wanderers in the Aviva A-League during 2010-11 before enjoying loan spells at Coventry in 2011-12 and Birmingham Moseley in 2012-13.

Hogg said: “We have got a number of players on our radar and we are always looking to strengthen our squad and Ethan is one of them.

“We are delighted with Ethan — he’s got a huge future at this club.”

Waller said: “I am immensely excited about starting my Warriors career and will be hungry to work hard to ensure the club can continue to move forward.”
