POWERFUL prop Biyi Alo is relishing the “weird” challenge of coming up against his former club Saracens and good friend Titi Lamositele at Sixways tomorrow.

The 22-year-old Worcester Warriors tighthead says it will be “interesting” to line up against the club where he cut his rugby teeth.

Alo joined Warriors from Sarries in the summer on injury dispensation cover for Gareth Milasinovich, who ruptured his Achilles tendon last year.

“It will definitely be interesting,” said Alo, who was part of Saracens' set-up for nearly six years and made his Aviva Premiership debut against Harlequins at Wembley in March 2015.

“I had been down at Saracens since I was 14 or 15 years old and Warriors are only my second club.

“It was the first league fixture of the season at Twickenham and I wasn’t able to be in that game and I was gutted.

“It will be weird coming up against them but it’s a challenge I am more than ready for.

"They are the best team in the country and in Europe and there’s no better way to see where you are at with your rugby.

"If I can go toe to toe with Saracens, it will be a privilege.”

The ex-England Under 20s player is on the bench for the match having made 11 appearances for Warriors, including three starts.

Alo said: "I will probably know everyone playing for Saracens and I will have a chat with them after the match - and not before.

“Titi is one of my good friends and I could come up against him.

“It will be a different feeling for me – one I have not experienced before but one that I am keen for.”

Westminster-born Alo has become a fans’ favourite at Sixways and penned a new deal which will keep him at the club beyond this term.

“I am quite a focused guy and have my head down and I can’t really hear much from the crowd during games," he said.

“It’s nice to be appreciated and if you’re doing something right and people can back you up, it’s a good bonus.”

Alo said the enthusiasm of former Wales international Mefin Davies was one of the reasons he chose to join Warriors.

“Mefin (scrum coach) is a great guy and was part of the reason I decided to come to Worcester," said Alo.

“When I first met him, I could tell he was passionate about scrums.

“As a young player knowing that scrummaging was an aspect I needed to get right, it gave me confidence that I could get better at it.”
