WORCESTER Warriors players will be “cheering on” team-mate Ben Te’o in England’s Six Nations showdown against Wales in Cardiff tomorrow (4.50pm).

The powerful New Zealand-born centre is on the bench for the clash after scoring a match-winning try in England's narrow 19-16 triumph against France at Twickenham last Saturday.

Te’o, who arrived at Sixways in the summer from Irish outfit Leinster, has also crossed the whitewash four times in eight appearances for Warriors.

“Ben is one of our team-mates and we will be cheering him on from a far,” said Warriors wing Bryce Heem.

“We all wish Ben the best with the Six Nations and we would love to have him here as well but it’s awesome to see him doing his thing with England.”

Warriors are embroiled in a relegation battle with just nine Aviva Premiership matches remaining and host Saracens at Sixways tomorrow (3pm).

And Warriors’ new director of rugby Gary Gold believes “it’s really positive for the club” to have Te’o, 30, on the international stage.

“It’s really positive for the club that Ben is a Worcester player and it’s always nice for a club to have one of your boys going out there and performing well at international level,” said Gold.

“I think the Warriors guys are pretty proud of him and chuffed he could make his mark against France.

“I am sure he was chuffed to be picked on the bench and it’s really good when you can come off that and make such an impact on the game as he did last weekend.”
