POWERFUL wing Bryce Heem has vowed to make an impact in Worcester Warriors’ “must-win” relegation scrap against Bristol tomorrow (3pm).

The Auckland-born ace says there will be no hiding place at Sixways for the hugely-anticipated Aviva Premiership relegation scrap.

The 28-year-old was ruled out through injury when Warriors slipped to a woeful 28-20 defeat against Bristol at Ashton Gate on Boxing Day.

“There’s no hiding from it," said Heem who was Worcester's stand-out player in the 24-14 defeat at Northampton Saints last weekend.

"It’s definitely the biggest game of the season and must-win for us.

“Our team are starting to come together (after the injuries) and I think we will be pretty sharp.

“We have a lot of players back who strengthen our side and the guys who haven’t made the match-day 23 have put us under pressure in training this week."

Heem continued: “I looked at the Bristol game at Christmas and it slipped away from us.

“I am glad I will be able to be on the pitch this time and I am definitely going to change an outcome.”

Heem, scrum-half Francois Hougaard, centre Wynand Olivier and skipper Donncha O’Callaghan were not involved in the festive meeting between the clubs.

Warriors start the afternoon two points better off than Bristol who have recorded just one win at Sale Sharks on their Premiership travels this term.

Worcester have not secured any away points but sealed home wins over Newcastle Falcons, Harlequins and Saracens at Sixways and drew with Gloucester and Sale.

While Warriors underperformed at Franklin’s Gardens, Bristol bagged four precious points with an impressive 12-11 home triumph over play-off chasing Bath.

“Bath didn’t do us any favours but neither did we,” said Heem who scored a last-gasp consolation try at Saints.

“We didn’t do ourselves any favours at Northampton and let that slip away. We have to be on point because we can’t let that happen again. We almost forgot about how good we are with ball in hand.

“Against Saracens our kicking game went really well and we got the rub of the green on a lot of calls.

“But at Northampton our execution wasn’t good enough and they spent a lot of time in our 22.

“We have to be clinical tomorrow and can’t give away easy penalties, especially in our 22 because that will be easy points for Bristol."

Warriors expect their biggest home gate in almost two years with all tickets in the 12,024-capacity stadium set to be snapped up.

Heem is urging supporters to get behind the team as they did in Warriors' matches against Saracens and Exeter Chiefs.

“The crowd have been pretty vocal in the last few games at home, especially against Saracens and the Chiefs when you could really hear them," added Heem.

“Whenever there’s a break in play I love to hear the fans cheer and chant and sometimes I give them a little something back. I am sure they will get stuck into Bristol.”
