POWERFUL centre Ben Te’o has been ruled out of Worcester Warriors’ Midlands derby against star-studded Wasps on Sunday (2.30pm).

The England player suffered concussion and a cut mouth after a crunching tackle from Ireland’s Robbie Henshaw last Saturday.

Warriors director of rugby Gary Gold says Te’o will not be available for their important Aviva Premiership match in Coventry.

Wynand Olivier and Jackson Willison are expected to continue their centre partnership for second-from-bottom Worcester.

“I am afraid Ben is not going to make it this weekend sadly which is a pity because he was up for it and we were really excited to have him back,” said Gold.

“But unfortunately he got a concussion and quite a bad cut in the mouth.

"He’s not even going to make the concussion protocol return so unfortunately he’s not available to us which is a pity.

“It would be great to have had a quality player like Ben especially against a team like Wasps but it means our continuity will continue.”

Te’o arrived on the pitch in the 62nd minute of England’s 13-9 defeat in Dublin but was involved in a high-velocity collision with Henshaw.

He missed the post-match presentation of medals and England’s team photographs with the Six Nations trophy.
