Craig Davies.

Poor decision making, poor line-outs, and a lack of ball retention made it an uphill task.

Granted the referee wasn't on our side either.

I thought Heem was our best player andHowe wasn't too bad either.

A lot of needless kicking too if you ask me.

Still, it is what it is and I back the lads, regardless.

Kevin Lynott.

Poor ball retention, poor decision making to kick and playing like strangers at the breakdown. Sloppy to let the Sale man walk out of our side of the maul with the ball for the second try.

Hugely frustrating night, again. Too imprecise in the final third, poor line-out and too much kicking second half. Clueless officiating too.

Kevin Crimmons‏ (@bcukevcrimmons).

Lively showing from our lads. It looked like we had a developmental referee as well.

Matt Hole‏ (@GearboxMatt).

Scored some good tries, but an error-strewn performance. Defence was sloppy at times. Heem and Schonert the standout class.

Abmatt.

It was almost like a training match.

We spent the best part of 20 minutes inside their 22 in the second half and came away with nothing.

We don’t seem to be able to recognise when something isn’t working and change tact, like the lineout and not getting the ball to the second jumper so throw it to the front to ensure securing the ball and setting up to attack.

A38.

An unsatisfactory game in many ways but not one to lose too much sleep about.

After all, the forwards as a collective had never played together before - and it showed - and the young inexperienced players will have learned something of what is required to play at a standard approaching Premiership level.

Pluses are key first-team players coming back from injury and one very good try. And I hope that we had no more injuries.

It was a game where set pieces were critical. I didn't understand what was happening at the scrums - but I don't think I was alone there - and one young hooker will have far better days with his throwing in to the line-out.
