BACK rower David Denton has recovered from a knee injury to be in contention for Worcester Warriors’ trip to Leicester Tigers in the Aviva Premiership on Saturday (3pm).

The Scotland international played no part in Warriors’ 30-15 victory over Northampton Saints at Sixways last weekend.

And director of rugby Gary Gold confirmed the 27-year-old has been struggling with the problem for the past couple of weeks.

Denton has made five appearances for Gold’s side after missing the first three games with an ankle injury.

“David has been out for a couple of weeks with a knee issue,” Gold said.

“But he is back training now.”

Gold also admitted there were a couple of players that were “touch and go” for the clash against Leicester.

“I thought we came through unscathed, but a couple of days afterwards there is always knocks and bruises,” he continued.

“But at this moment in time nobody has been ruled out.”

Francois Hougaard, Ryan Mills, Bryce Heem and Chris Pennell have all returned to full fitness.

“It is remarkable how the teams at the top of the table do seem to have fewer injuries than the other sides that are struggling,” Gold added.

“It would make a massive difference if we could keep a run of consistency going from a selection point of view.”
